NEW – Gender/Equity Lanquage

What’s New in the 2020 Guidelines?

New Gender/Equity Language and Requirements

Gender-based Analysis Plus (GBA+) is an analytical process used to assess how a diverse group of women, men and non-binary people may experience policies, programs and initiatives. The “plus” in GBA+ means this tool goes beyond sex/gender and looks at other identify factors, including race, ethnicity, religion, age, income and mental/physical disability.

The Branch has implemented a GBA+ tool into the 2020 application, to ensure that all organizations and programs are open and accessible to as many people as possible, and do not discriminate for any reason.

1)New “Yes/No” question asking if the organization limits access to their programs for any reason. Restrictions are permitted in some instances, if the exclusion of some individuals is required for another individual or group to be effectively served.

2)Applicants must include information on “accessibility and inclusiveness” of their program, as it relates to GBA+, in the Program Description.
